The Jacaranda is the purplish pink tree, and while it is only part of this scene, it is what inspired this painting. Here it appears more pink than purple, and that is due to the time of day as well as the colors of the surrounding trees. This is another painting from Coffee Pot Bayou, St Petersburg, FL.

Here is a taste of the colorful commercial fishing community in Madiera Beach Florida. I've met several of the captains & crew when I used to be a part time taxi driver along the beaches in Pinellas County. They are an adventurous lot. I think they may be descendants of the old world pirates!

Paradise Grill, on Pass-A-Grille, St Pete Beach, is a bistro on the the Gulf of Mexico. This is where Suntan Art Center holds an art market every Saturday morning. I'm there just about every Saturday and I decided it was time to portray the scene in oils.

 I did not exaggerate the quality and brilliance of the blue sky & water in this painting. This was a clear bright day in St Petersburg, FL..
