The Jacaranda is the purplish pink tree, and while it is only part of this scene, it is what inspired this painting. Here it appears more pink than purple, and that is due to the time of day as well as the colors of the surrounding trees. This is another painting from Coffee Pot Bayou, St Petersburg, FL.
Here is a taste of the colorful commercial fishing community in Madiera Beach Florida. I've met several of the captains & crew when I used to be a part time taxi driver along the beaches in Pinellas County. They are an adventurous lot. I think they may be descendants of the old world pirates!
I paint to celebrate nature and to honor people who are celebrating life. Art, wether it is practiced or purchased, will heal & inspire, it will reveal the extraordinary in what previously seemed ordinary. It also helps us re-experience precious moments. I'm using the skills I've learned in order to inspire an emotional response. I emphasize the play of natural light In my paintings and use color generously combined with brush strokes that capture fleeting and treasured moments. I love to paint outdoors as well as in my studio. Being actively immersed in nature contributes to a soulful expression of her many moods. My seascapes and portraits have been hailed by patrons as stunning, vivid and emotionally stirring.
